Well, Homar has finally gone. Place isn’t quite the same without him, he will be sorely missed in the lab! I did get to steal most of his good labware though, hoorah! We have new guy joined the lab this week too, Kurt, who’s going to be studying for a PhD with us. Justin, who worked in my research group in my 4th year is also arriving on Saturday morning to start his PhD here too. So the lab isn’t empty!
Ben and Tilly have left today for 3 weeks in England, as has Seamus. Even Timmy has gone home for a few weeks so I have the house to myself. Bit weird actually. Glad I don’t have to live on my own for the whole time their away because I’m coming home myself!!
Did have a good weekend last weekend though. Friday night we celebrated Tilly’s birthday at the Bewhouse with plenty of lovely beers, then on Saturday night we went to Tilly’s workmate Mark J’s housewarming party, which was good fun. Then Sunday was spent slobbing out and watching the last 6 episodes of One Tree Hill in series 5. It was awesome!
That’s about it at the moment really. Just going mad in the lab for the next couple of weeks so that we can *hopefully* be ready for the experiment in England. Cross your fingers!
