Okay, just a quick update because I haven’t been on here for a while 
First, the big news is about my trip back to the UK. It turns out that I was told the wrong date for the experiment we’re running. It’s not in June at all, but in July. So I will be coming back and free for fun & games from about the 14th July to the 26th of July or so. This is going to mess with my plans for seeing some of you 
But I can’t help it I’m afraid! The dates for the experiment are not flexible so it’s totally out of my hands. Sorry to anyone I miss because of this!
As for what I’ve been up to – lots of the same really. Been climbing a few more times, tried to have a look at buying my own gear today but the sports shop I looked in don’t do climbing stuff so that failed. I did manage to get to go and see Ironman on a 25 m cinema screen though, which was really good. I’d recommend it to anyone who is thinking about seeing it. It’s pretty funny and not too cheesey.
We also had a movie night in the lab last night which was good fun. Homar is leaving us for good in a few weeks and Karsten is off to Europe for a couple of months so as a bit of a goodbye we watched Harold and Kumar go to White Castle and ordered in Pizza and drank Ben’s homebrew. Excellent fun, it’s another movie I’d recommend. Much better than I was expecting.
Was nice to have a lie in this morning. This afternoon I went to the local shopping centre and had a fairly successful trip. The haul included two new pairs of shorts (much needed as shorts are pretty much all I’m wearing), a long-sleeved t-shirt, a normal t-shirt, and a really big hoody (just in case it actually does get cold enough to wear one….). All that for just over $100, which is less than £50. Not bad!
I have, however, realised that money is fairly tight here. I am basically spending exactly what I earn in order to live here. I’m not in need of anything and I can afford to go climbing once a week and go out every now and then, but I am definitely not getting enough money to save anything. This has prompted me to apply for my permission to work and get my tax file number so I can look into tutoring next semester and earn a bit more money.
Anyway, that’s all for now. Will try and get some more photos taken and uploaded soon because I know they are more fun to look at than reading this! Hah.
